Meet Your Captains at Reel Adventure Charters
Four captains run our four boats, all out of Southwind Marina in Pensacola. Here's who's behind the wheel and which boat each one runs.
Captain Jake Durant
25' Blackjack (white dome) · inshore & near offshore
Captain Jake was on the water as soon as he was old enough. He began helping Captain Rick at a young age and steadily absorbed knowledge of the profession throughout his teenage years. Once Captain Jake was out of college and ready to start his career, he got a captain’s license of his own and began running his own charters.
Captain Rick Durant
35' Contender · offshore & deep drop
Captain Rick, 62, was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida and has been an outdoorsman his entire life. Once settled down after his professional baseball career, he began his fishing charter business out of Perdido Key, Florida. Throughout the years he has earned a strong reputation of being a reliable captain in the area and built a strong client base for himself.
Captain Jeff McNew
42' Yellowfin · offshore
Captain Jeff grew up in Louisiana and fished the marshes and offshore in Southeast Louisiana. He moved to Pensacola in 2020 and began running offshore charters out of Pensacola. His background and knowledge of the Gulf make for an exciting day on his boat, the 42' Yellowfin.
Captain Clay Hinton
25' Blackjack (yellow dome) · inshore & near offshore
Captain Clay runs the yellow-dome 25' Blackjack, one of our two inshore and near-shore boats. He is a full-time captain with Reel Adventure Charters.
